I started taking some coaching-related courses in the federal public service, hoping to find tricks and tips to help my colleagues feel better about their environment, to remember why they're proud public servants, and to try to rebuild trust in and among the managers and staff.
As I worked through the training, the apprenticeship and work with my own coach, I realized the power of this work - for people going through a tough time, for people who have a long term worry or driver in their lives, or for people who just need to get 'over this hump today'.
In working with one of my colleagues, I was describing my topic, the one that has power over me every day of my life. At one point I said to her "You know, I often say, I wish I was a cat. I watch my cats every day and every day they wake up, they know they're gorgeous, they throw up, they clean themselves, nap, and wake up knowing they're gorgeous. In my next life I want to be a cat and know I'm beautiful and not care if I throw up or have a bad hair day, I'm perfect the way I am."
My colleague coach looked at me and said kindly but seriously "Why wait until your next life? Don't you want to feel good about yourself now?"
Think about that one, folks. That revelation hit me like a ton of bricks. Heavy.
Integral Coaching is a different way of working with a topic that really is important to you. Wanting to start a healthy lifestyle? Wishing to feel better about yourself? Are there other 'things' or thoughts that have spent enough time in the driver's seat and now need to move to the passenger seat for a while?
Maybe Integral Coaching can help. I'm a Certified Integral Associate Coach. Contact me and let's see together if maybe that driver needs to take a break.

"Jennifer is a natural coach, that's why people go to her, and she's there for them. She's a caring and loving person who is willing to step up to the plate, take the big risk, and not afraid to try out new things. She inspires me, not to be a coach, but to stop and take the time for myself, most people miss that part." - S.P., Government of Canada
"Jennifer is a natural who could coach even with no training. Life circumstance has equipped her with the raw ingredients, and life experience has turned the ingredients into the finished article. Her positive mental attitude makes her a supremely effective and extremely rare coach who teaches about filtering everyday experiences in a positive way. She is one of those individuals who stresses the importance to be clear in your communication and responsibility. As she says, 'People feel good if they have high enough self esteem to say that they want something but if the other person can't give what they need, that's okay. It's important though to communicate clearly and not expect people to read your mind." - D.F., Government of Canada
"Some people are born with this "ability", Jennifer is one of them! She's one of a kind, and I had the chance to cross her path! Many times, when I thought I couldn't go further, I was ready to give up, she was there with her kind words and advice, sometimes even just her presence and she'd give me the 'push' I needed to go on. She's always ready to fight for who and what she believes in. Jennifer knows how to bring out the best in people, and out of every situation. She's a caring person, she'd move mountains for others ... as she did for me and my family! As my kids once said, she's like an angel :)." I.R., Government of Canada
"Jennifer is very respectful to with everyone she works with. She is a nice, caring, loving, outgoing and positive person. She has a huge heart, a sympathetic ear and strong shoulder and always goes above and beyond her job duties. She is open-minded and approaches all challenges with optimism. In my 7 years working with her, she always thinks of others FIRST and her dedication to her job is contagious. She is a true team player; I have never met a more sincere and caring co-worker. She always presents herself as professional and mindful of others." - Renee Cantin, Government of Canada
